Mark has a celebrated career in science and technology and is an inventor with more than 100 U.S. patents issued. In 1998, he co-founded Illumina and served as vice president of genomics and informatics. He also held the positions of director of genetics research at Affymetrix and CEO/CSO of Prognosys Biosciences before co-founding Encodia.

Mark holds a B.S. in biochemistry from the University of New South Wales and a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge.
